Our Beginner Norwegian Course (A1 level) in Oslo is ideal for individuals with no prior experience or very limited knowledge of the language. Whether you are an expat, international student, job seeker, or newly arrived resident, this course offers a structured path to develop essential communication skills in Norwegian.

Our class sizes are limited to 3–6 students to ensure effective learning. All instructors are native or near-native speakers with specialised training in adult education. You will receive individual feedback and structured guidance to support fast and confident progression.

Our A1 course is designed to develop your language skills through an active and varied learning environment. You will engage in a structured mix of reading, listening, pronunciation, grammar, and writing tasks—all carefully tailored to beginner-level learners.

Lessons are conducted in small groups of 3–6 participants, fostering strong interaction and consistent speaking practice. This format allows for individual attention, peer support, and a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages progress, confidence, and long-term retention.

What distinguishes our approach is our focus on measurable advancement. Our teachers combine a solid pedagogical foundation with practical classroom expertise, ensuring that you benefit from clear explanations, relevant examples, and supportive correction.

We use the booksd "Ny i Norge (A1/A2)" textbook and workbook by Kaurin Nilssen. These materials support a clear and efficient learning trajectory from A1 to A2 level.

Course fees do not include books. You may purchase the required "Ny i Norge" textbook and workbook directly from us or at bookstores.

In-person courses are held at our Oslo location, easily accessible by public transport. If you prefer distance learning, our live online classes offer the same level of quality and personal attention, available from anywhere in Norway or internationally.

Language Power International AS is accredited by the Norwegian Directorate of Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir), making our Norwegian courses fully approved for official purposes.

After successful completion, you will receive an official certificate recognised for:

• UDI applications (residency and citizenship)
• Job applications in Norway
• Professional and personal development

Attendance of at least 80% is required to obtain certification.

Sessions that coincide with national holidays will be rescheduled to the nearest available date (usually the following Friday).
